A Word from the Provost
We welcome you to the Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS). Founded in 1947, CBTS has a standing tradition of commitment to the inerrancy and absolute authority of Scripture as the infallible Word of God. We believe that God uses His Word for the salvation and sanctification of mankind. As such, we are committed to training Bible‑saturated, Christ‑centred, and Spirit‑filled expositors who will honour Jesus by faithfully preaching and living out His word.
CBTS exists to provide Biblical, theological, historical, and practical training in Christian ministry for pastors, administrators, chaplains, theological teachers, and other Christian workers within Cameroon, Africa and beyond as a means of fulfilling the great Commission.
CBTS seeks to integrate both theory and practice in her training and help students maintain a healthy balance in their spiritual, doctrinal, cultural, intellectual and vocational competences and realities as they engage in ministry within and without the confines of the CBC Church.

106 credit hours. Biblical counselling for individuals, couples and families, with supervised ministry and crisis intervention.

MA in Biblical and Theolological Studies
A concentration in Biblical and Theological Studies provides students with the foundation they need for effective ministry. Thus,
the purpose of this concentration is to provide biblical, theological, historical, and practical training for persons who desire to be better
equipped for the different ministries of the Church. It is also a preparation for students desiring to further their studies in the area of
Biblical and Theological Studies. Students in this concentration receive a sound biblical foundation while at the same time getting practical
training in ministry.

MA in Intercultural Studies and World Missions
The Master of Arts in Intercultural studies and World Missions is designed to equip men and women for ministry as pastors,
teachers, evangelists, missionaries, urban ministers, church planters, and workers for the denomination both within and outside Cameroon.
In addition, it prepares students for all other church related ministries that emphasize missions, evangelism, and church planting. Students
in this concentration receive a sound biblical foundation while at the same time getting practical training in ministry.

The program is designed to prepare men and women for leadership positions in the church and in other Christian organizations

The Master ofArts in Pastoral Care and Counseling is designed to equip men and women for ministry as pastoral counselors and
chaplains, particularly in the medical and educational institutions operated by the Cameroon Baptist Convention, as well as pastors and
teachers who intend to focus on pastoral care and counseling in their ministry. Students in this concentration receive a sound biblical
foundation while at the same time getting practical training in counseling.

The Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies is designed to offer ministry training to those who want to serve in the church in the areas of preaching and teaching. A concentration in Biblical and Theological Studies provides students with the foundation they need to effectively minister in the church. Thus, the purpose of this concentration is to provide biblical, theological, historical, and practical training for persons who desire to be better equipped to do ministry in the local church. It is also a preparation for students
desiring to further their studies in the area of Biblical and Theological Studies.

Bachelor of Arts in Translation and Applied Linguistics
The purpose of the Bachelor of Arts in Bible Translation is to prepare students with basic formal training to lead Bible translation
and literacy projects. They will be equipped to undertake basic descriptive linguistic analysis and translate the Bible into African
languages. The program is interdisciplinary, combining biblical, linguistic, missiological, and ministerial training. The program will prepare students for leadership in the ministry of Bible translation, either as mother tongue or other tongue translators, or pastoral ministry. Students in this concentration receive a sound biblical foundation while at the same time getting practical training in ministry.

The Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Care and Counseling is designed to prepare students for a ministry of biblical counseling to individuals, couples, and families in the local church. Students who plan to do a significant amount of counseling in the church should choose this concentration. The concentration provides a biblical foundation on which Pastoral Care and Counseling is based.
